We source a selection of vintage kilims from Turkey, Iran and other regions of Central Asia. We hand pick each rug, looking for high quality, traditional symbols and colours that suit our customers homes. We have an ever-changing stock and this is an example from the Van region of eastern Turkey is woven using a classic slit weave technique. It is c.60 years old.

This is a beautiful Turkish kilim just arrived in the shop. Hand woven in the Van region of eastern Turkey using slit weave technique. Lighter colours than usual make it very suitable for UK homes and particularly for bedroom or living room usage. Dimensions are 184cm long by 123cm width. It’s about 60 years old and has signs of its age but has just been cleaned and stretched for us in Istanbul and is looking great.
